Fungi in Red and Black
Choose options

Fungi is inspired by Matsutake and Brown Velvet mushrooms, members a fungi family known as Mycorrhizae that helps trees communicate with one another. These interactions occur via a network of underground threads called mycelia that extend from mycorrhizal mushroom bases to tree roots in order to form a “wood-wide-web”. Trees such as willows, birches, crepe myrtles, and Douglas firs use this subterranean internet to share water and nutrients with one another. Our Fungi print shares inspiration with our Willow Talk wallpaper.
Made with water-based inks and Japanese mulberry paper, Fungi is a limited edition relief print printed by hand in New York City. The subtle variations that result from hand printing make each print one of a kind.
Imperfections, such as uneven ink coverage and slight waves in the paper ground, are inherent to block printing and are part of its beauty.
