Linocuts in Los Angeles and Larkspur
Printmaking with Scalamandre and Well Made Home

Winter 2026: New York City versus the Bay Area
During New York’s recent deep freeze, I had the good fortune to go to California. The purpose of my trip to the golden state was twofold:

Mazy Path wallpapers, textiles and pillows are now available through the Scalamandre Los Angeles showroom
First, the Los Angeles showroom of the storied textile house, Scalamandre, will now be representing Mazy Path in Southern California, and so I went to LA to mark this new collaboration. Second, I wanted to pay a visit to Well Made Home, the boutique retail shop and textile showroom in Marin County, that has long represented Mazy Path in Northern California (Well Made Home also has a location in Palm Beach and represents Mazy Path in Florida)

To celebrate both of these partnerships, new and old, I gave linocut printmaking workshops to the Scalamandre and Well Made Home showroom teams and a wonderful assortment of their respective Los Angeles and Bay Area interior design clients.
Making linocut prints at Scalamandre in Los Angeles
Workshop participants learned the art of linocut printmaking by creating their own linocut prints. Instruction began with a brief introduction to linocut printmaking, and why it’s my chosen medium for Mazy Path. Next, participants moved through the steps of drawing a small image inspired by a California native plant, transferring the sketch onto a block, carving the block, and printing the block.
