The American Elderberry plant, Sambucus Canadensis, bears ink-colored berries in the late summer and early fall. These beautiful berries, little black pearls packed with antioxidants and vitamin C, have long been used in folk medicine. They can be crushed into syrups and teas that are said to boost immunity, tame inflammation and reduce stress. This year, Mazy Path’s autumn harvest includes six new colorways of Elderberry wallpaper- Moss, Terracotta, Sand, Ink, Earth and Spruce- and while our Elderberry wallpapers won’t cure a cold, their lively colors will bring good cheer!Elderberry, Fog in a bathroom designed and photographed by Elizabeth Dexter Interiors

These new hues join our Elderberry, Fog, colorway, a longtime Mazy Path favorite. The palette for the Elderberry, Moss colorway is based on the actual colors of Elderberry plants. Photo by Krissy Shields.

The inspiration for the new colorways came from many places, including the color of actual elderberry plants. The new Moss colorway speaks to the elderberry’s white blossoms (catch the plant in late spring and early summer to see them), green leaves, magenta stems, and purple-black berries.L to R: Elderberry, color Earth; Elderberry, color Sand; Elderberry, color Ink; Elderberry, color Terracotta, Elderberry, color Spruce

Elderberry’s other new colorways are based on palettes I create using images I’ve collected over time and what I see happening “in the air”: colors in art, fashion, and interiors that seem to express the moment we’re in.L to R: Elderberry, color Spruce; Elderberry, color Earth; Elderberry, color Ink; Elderberry, color Sand; Elderberry, color Terracotta; Elderberry, color Moss, Elderberry, color Fog
